Open the For class route. Use your instructor's assigned main case; otherwise choose one. Choose a different country for comparison later. The outcomes are known; you are evaluating an explanation, not changing history. Plan about 55 minutes provisionally and allow extra time for careful reading. Individual assessment needs a separate browser record per student. A shared pair device produces one shared record.
Complete The Full Hearing
1. Record a first explanation or question.
2. Read the case table and cards. Select two different supporting cards and a separate complication. Explain what the complication makes less certain. Review the full cards and source details you use.
3. Name one research target: an event or opportunity, whose, and when. Write the actor, action/rule/advantage and affected option. Optional frames are aids: replace every bracketed instruction.
4. Attempt both source-use questions. For each, record a reasoned decision about your own writing: keep, narrow a step or replace evidence. Cite a valid case ID and reconcile any board changes with your paragraph.
5. Name the uncertain link that two accounts address. State the competing account and describe different evidence you would expect under the two accounts, including whom/what and when to check.
6. Aim for a 60-85-word current explanation; 50-120 words is accepted for completion. Cite both chosen supports, address the complication and state a source limit relevant to your claim. Write a 30-45-word second-case comparison with a valid second-case card ID and a difference that tests or bounds the claim.
7. Review the full record, complete the writer confirmations and finish. Complete means required items are included; a person assesses reasoning.
Submit As Assigned
PDF upload: choose Print / Save as PDF, select Save as PDF or Print to PDF in the browser dialog if available, then upload the saved PDF to Canvas.
Canvas Text Entry: choose Copy grading summary, then paste it into Canvas. If copying waits or fails, the complete read-only text is selected in the game for manual copying. The game blocks pasting INTO class answers; copying OUT for submission is available.
The .json file is a progress backup for resuming this game. Submit the readable PDF or text summary, rather than that backup. Exporting or finishing does not submit anything to a teacher.
What A Strong Response Shows
Precise and distinct observations; an actor-to-option connection; a claim-relevant source limit; a meaningful complication; reasons for both hearing decisions; a rival addressing the same uncertain link; evidence that distinguishes expected patterns; and a bounded second-case comparison. Political agreement, speed and changing one's mind do not determine quality.
Two source-use questions for paper work
Use these questions for a paper-only assignment. The digital game selects its own two practice questions from your board; the paper format uses the same source-reading and reasoned-decision tasks. A teacher assesses these answers; a paper response has no software Complete status.
- What does the record actually show? Choose one supporting card. Name what its source records or measures, one further inference it cannot establish, and the phrase in your explanation affected by that limit. Decide to keep, narrow or replace, with a reason and a case ID.
- How do the two supports work together? Do they add different premises, independently check the same claim, or repeat an underlying source? Identify the relevant source origins and say what that means for your explanation. Decide to keep, narrow or replace, with a reason and a case ID.

Use the same evidence and source records. Add pages as needed. Keep the full set of required responses.
