Your job is to explain what changed in political authority, who made it possible and what the evidence cannot settle.

Choose how to play

Just exploring: written notes are optional. Evidence reading, political choices and objective checks remain. For class: complete the required responses and follow your instructor’s directions. Switch inside the game without losing drafts. Returning to class brings you to missing class work; exploration never certifies skipped writing. Reports identify the mode and whether this investigation used exploration.

Start with one file

  1. Open the required evidence card. Read its date, source and limits.
  2. Answer the short check or write your explanation. Use card IDs such as TN2 when you cite an observation.
  3. Explain how an actor’s action could produce the result. Consider another explanation and what evidence would distinguish it.
  4. Select Continue to commit required writing. Objective checks give feedback; your instructor assesses written reasoning.

Useful distinctions

A leader leaving office does not by itself establish a new regime or democracy. A crowd photograph does not measure national participation. A number needs its unit, denominator and date. A defensible answer can identify exactly what remains unknown.

Save, pause and return

Drafts save on this device when browser storage is available. Check the save status. Use Save / restore to download a progress backup, particularly before changing devices, browsers or websites. Progress on yoavduman.com and possiblestates.com is stored separately.

Turn in your work

Open Notebook to print/save a PDF or export readable text. Check the exported file, then submit it through your course system. Downloading does not submit your assignment. Your instructor specifies the required endpoint.
